I don’t know why it tickles me when I’m back to my blog. My blog has gone through different shades and phases. Funny enough, this is a new phase where I move back from Blogger to WordPress. It’s really cool though.
I was contemplating on writing on my departmental trip which lasted for a week. We moved by road and it was fun filled. Many people expected me to share it but I was reluctant.
There’s much to say than to type but here’s a little I have to write:
Why we went to Ghana
The trip was to Ghana, as expected. We visited Ghana due to the fact that they value the Marine Ecosystem. The hotel we lodged was topnotch though it had minor discomforts.
Places We Visited
We visited places like Kofi Annan International PeaceKeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), where we were being exposed to programs that ensure peace in the distribution of the Marine body for different countries, Tema market were fishes are being sold and processed in different forms, and beaches like Akosombo Beach and Sakomono Beach.
In the course of the trip we passed through popular places in Ghana like Kumasi, Tema, Akosombo and we lodged at Accra. We also visited companies that produce fish feed such as the popular RAANAN fish feed, Tema. We visited the University of Ghana, which has gigantic and beautiful structures and us known to be the oldest university in Ghana.
We also visited Regional Maritime University and Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) where experiments on water quality are performed in different units.
I got to taste Ghana jollof, banku with various soups and other delicacies which could make you salivate. We were gifted souvenirs from a few companies and we bought some souvenirs for our friends and families back home in Nigeria.
PS: The trip was paid for individually but sponsored by Ecobank in order to avoid exchange-rate issues .
